FACILITATING RELATIONSHIPS FOR FAMILIES IN CRISIS WITHIN HEALTHY, SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY

However, "Children who see their parents on a weekly basis are ten times more likely to be reunified with their parents than children who do not." Child Youth Services Review 2011

 

WHAT DOES THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER DO?

  • Offers free visitation, transportation, and support services to families in the foster care system

  • Introduces and facilitates relationships with a healthy support family in the community to come alongside them outside of visitations, providing practical mentorship and peer support

  • Encourages family reunification by providing space for family bonding activities such as child-led play, art, reading, and shared meals around a table

  • Provides support services and referrals to other programs

  • Uses community resources and social media to obtain needed items like clothing and furniture

SUPPORT FAMILY

Families who have fun with and establish relationships with guest families, providing support and mentorship.

TRANSPORTATION

Assist with transportation to or from the center for children who are attending visitations or accessing other services.

KITCHEN PROVISION

Provide meals or food that families can prepare together and build lasting bonds.

DONATE

Gift in Kind donations - such as snacks, diapers, and cleaning products - are always needed to serve our guests and maintain our center.
