Employer Matching or
Giving Program

Many businesses and corporations offer matching gifts for employee donations; some even have giving programs where employees can direct business/corporate donations to certain nonprofits. Contact us if you need any supporting documentation.

Donated items will either be sold in our store, where all profits go to support our programs; or given to children and families in need through our programs or other community organizations.

Donations can be made via check, cash, or card at the Boutique counter. You may also add a donation (tip) to any purchase made at the store. Please leave your contact information if you would like a receipt and so we can say thank you.  

If you give in person, please ask about getting a tour of our space and to learn more about how Beacon Hill is impacting the lives of children and families across the state.

Donation FAQ

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Beacon Hill is a non-profit organization recognized as a 501(c)3 by the IRS. All charitable contributions are tax deductible. Our EIN/ Tax-ID number is 27-1779531.

 

No goods or services will be provided unless otherwise specified.

Does my donation have transaction fees?

It depends on how you choose to donate. View transaction fees by donation method. Maximize your donation's impact by adding a small percentage to your donation to help us cover some or all of the processing fees of your donation. 

What is the difference between giving online and Paypal?

Our "Give Online" button takes you to our website donation form, which allows you to choose a one-time or recurring gift via credit/debit card or ACH/Direct Debit. Donations are securely processed via Blackbaud Merchant Services.

Our Paypal donation page allows you to make a one-time or recurring gift with your Paypal account or a credit/debit card. You do not need a PayPal account.

How do I change or cancel a monthly donation?

If you are giving through our website donation form, please contact our Finance Department by email or at 907-222-0925 Ext 8. 

If you are giving through PayPal, changes are made through your personal account. 

How do I request to have my year end statement mailed to me?

Year end statements are generally provided via email. If you would like to have a copy mailed to you, please contact us by email or at 907-222-0925 Ext 8. 

Are there other ways to make a donation?

Yes. Explore the many ways you can support children in foster care.

Can I designate my donation for a certain program or purpose?

Yes. You may designate your gift to a Beacon Hill program or for a specific purpose.  Select the fund online or on PayPal, or write it in the memo line of your check.  All undesignated gifts will go to the General Fund.  Currently, there are four options online and on PayPal:  

  • General Fund—Your donation will be used where needed most for any program or purpose at the direction of the Beacon Hill Board.  

  • Safe Families for Children—Your donation will be used where needed most in the Safe Families program.

  • Heart Gallery—Your donation will be used where needed most in the Heart Gallery program.

  • Special Designation—Choose another program (e.g. Anchorage Family Support Center); a specific Safe Families Chapter (e.g. Fairbanks chapter); or a specific purpose (e.g. Holiday gift drive). Be sure to type your designation in the specified box.   

Beacon Hill recognizes donor preferences for the use of donated funds with the intention of using the funds as indicated; however, all donations are ultimately considered available where most needed at the discretion of the organization.
