We have many ways to meet the needs of the families we serve and we ask that there be no money exchanged between volunteers and families.

Many of the children and families we serve have experienced trauma. Please never restrain or physically discipline a child.

What's the first thing I need to do in order to become a Beacon Hill volunteer?
Explore the various ways to volunteer within Beacon Hill! We are passionate about matching your giftings with the right volunteer role (see our Partner page for roles, descriptions, and next steps). Any position working directly with children requires a background check, which may include a fingerprinting process. A Beacon Hill representative will help connect you with a fingerprinting vendor; however, volunteers are asked to pay for this process if required (the cost is approximately $30).
Why does Beacon Hill need to run background checks?
Background checks are run to ensure the complete safety of our volunteers, staff, and families.
Once my application is submitted, what should I expect?
You will receive a call from us within a week to inform you of background check paperwork that needs to be filled out along with any other information that will be needed to process your application.
How much time is needed to volunteer?
We understand that your time is valuable and we have tried to tailor a variety of opportunities with different time requirements. This allows you the freedom to decide when and how you are available to help us.
